REMS - Revista de Estudios Marítimos y Sociales

Biannual publication – ISSN 2545-6237 (en línea)

The Revista de Estudios Marítimos y Sociales (REMS) is a publication of the Maritime Social Studies Group (GESMar) at the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, Argentina.

The journal aims to disseminate original and unpublished work on diverse topics in the fields of social sciences and humanities, maintaining its founding purpose linked to the inquiry into issues concerning the past, present, and future of port and maritime communities. It promotes the publication of scientific research conducted through specific techniques and/or interdisciplinary mechanisms, explicitly seeking to foster debate and theoretical-methodological interactions and intersections.

It is also of interest to stimulate the publication of narratives from diverse formative contexts, safeguarding quality principles and appropriate evaluation criteria, in order to sustain a pluralist intellectual development. In turn, the journal's content, with free and immediate access, is intended for members of the scientific community, but also for a broader public, based on the principle of democratization and exchange of knowledge as a contribution not only to academic dynamics in particular, but to social dynamics in general.
